You can find such information as insurances, service charges, cancellation fees or Gold services.

Cancellation fees for pre-paid bookings

How much is the cancellation fee for a prepaid booking?


A full refund of the prepaid amount will be issued if the reservation is cancelled within 7 days from the date of booking. Cancellations made more than 7 days after the date of booking will incur a cancellation fee of:

45EUR/30GBP/65CHF/300SEK/300NOK/450ZAR/300DKK/200AED/200SAR/20KWD.


No Show/Lost Rentals will incur a cancellation fee of:
95EUR/70GBP/140CHF/750SEK/750NOK/1,050ZAR/700DKK/450AED/450SAR/45KWD

A refund of any remaining amount will be made to the account originally billed & will appear on the account balance within 5 to 10 working days. Detailed information can be found in our terms & conditions.

Returning the car with an empty fuel tank (FPO)

What if I return the car with an empty tank of fuel?


Hertz rates do not include fuel. All Hertz vehicles are rented with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank, or a local refuelling charge will apply.
Fuel Purchase Option (FPO)


For convenience, you may purchase a tank of fuel from Hertz at the time of rental at a price that is competitive with local fuel stations. This method eliminates the need for you to refill the tank before returning. Please be aware that we are unable to give a refund for unused fuel. Please check the availability of FPO at time of rental.

How will the fuel option be charged?

The fuel fees will be charged, according to the ammouts stated in the renatl contract.

Why do your customers have to return the car with a full fuel tank?

The Hertz rates don’t iclude fuel. The cars are provided with a full tank and therefore be returned with a full tank.

Mandatory Fuel Purchase Option

In what circumstances is the Fuel Purchase Option (FPO) mandatory?

Should this mandatory fuel charge be applicable to your rental, a related notice will be displayed at various stages during the online quote/book process. Most notably at the bottom of the fleet list and near the approximate Total Price in the page where you enter your personal details to confirm the reservation. It will also appear in the confirmation page when you retrieve the booking online.

Where a Mandatory Fuel Purchase Charge is applied to your rental, your vehicle will be provided with a full tank of fuel which will be charged when you collect your vehicle. You should aim to return the vehicle with as little fuel as possible, as any unused fuel cannot be refunded.

Pick up & Drop off

What if the rental location is closed at the preferred pick-up time?

Pick-up of cars outside the regular opening hours is possible at most locations. Locations will charge additional costs in the event a car being collected outside of opening hours. Please contact our Reservations Centre if you wish to check the availability and cost for an out of hours service for your rental.


You can enter the drop off or pick up location in the GDS system via the entries underneath.

Can your customer pick up his car after opening hours?

Yes,  Pick-up of cars outsite the regular opening hours is at most locations possible. Locations will charge additional costs in case a car is picked up outside opening hours.

How can you book a pick-up outside opening hours?

 Pick-up outside opening hours must be booked via the Hertz Reservations desk as additional information is needed.
